AFM, Cluster for Advanced and Digital Manufacturing and AER, Association of Robotics and Automation, held a seminar at the IMH Machine Tool Institute in Elgoibar (Gipuzkoa) on 20 February last, in which they carried out a complete overview of the solutions that the world of robot-based automation can offer the manufacturing and machine tool industries.
With an extensive line-up including presentations on applications by the companies ABB, FESTO, INFAIMON, KUKA, PILZ and UNIVERSAL ROBOTS, and case studies by the technology centres TEKNIKER and TECNALIA, the seminar also featured an exhibition area where several companies displayed their solutions in this field.
A round table was also held on the topic of “The convergence between manufacturing and industrial automation. A joint future”, in which participants KUKA, PILZ and IDEKO discussed the challenges that both sectors are facing together.
More than one hundred attendees had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the current industrial robotics and machine tool panorama and the solutions that can be offered on a joint basis in today’s industrial setting in order to achieve a more profitable and efficient production process.
