Project AUTOMAHE_IA forms part of the scheme for supporting Innovative Corporate Groups managed by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism. Since it started in November, the project has been achieving interesting results for the machine-tool sector.
The members of the consortium taking part in the project are: Avantek Soluciones PLM, leading company in the integration of PLM solutions for digital transformation in the industrial sector; Nicolás Correa, benchmark industrial group in milling machine innovation, design and manufacture; Ibarmia, leading company in the manufacture and sale of high-performance machining units, and AFM, the Spanish association of manufacturers of machine tools, accessories, parts and tools.
The main goal of Project AUTOMAHE_IA is to develop a competent and flexible multi-platform post-processor that is compatible with most CAD/CAM software on the market and the main machine-tool manufacturers. This SW solution will incorporate unique internal calculation tools based on digital AI technologies, Big Data, 3D printing and additive manufacturing, the value of which lies in its capacity to convert any mechanical swarf removal system into a precise and accurate system with real-time robot/tool positioning feedback.
Thus, this project is contributing to the technological development of Artificial Intelligence applied to the mechanical manufacturing sector, since it tackles the technological challenge of developing a solution capable of measuring the machining results of the first parts and comparing these with their original models.
