AFM has organised an event to be held on 9 February next within the context of the ADDITOOL project in order to share and showcase the most significant developments and lessons learned in the metal additive manufacturing industry. The consortium has undertaken a short, medium and long-term study into Metal Additive Manufacturing (MAM) determining, as precisely as possible, the needs of the tool industry and taking stock of the maturity of all the available technologies. Companies and institutions from Spain, France and Portugal have taken part in this 24-month undertaking, with an overall budget of 1.71 million euros, 1.28 million of which came from FEDER funds.
The event, to be hosted at the Hotal Arima (in San Sebastian), will present the results of the project and feature speakers from international companies such as AMPOWER, Addup, Adaxis and Rescoll with presentations on several different topics relating to metal additive manufacturing.
The ADDITOOL project has also facilitated knowledge transfer throughout the SUDOE region. New educational programmes have been developed for both engineering and industrial students. The transfer of knowledge and skills by the ADDITOOL consortium has also implemented teacher, researcher and PhD student mobility as a means of sharing good practice in order to advance together in metal additive manufacturing processes.
Admission to the event is free of charge. Attendees must register via the ADDITOOL website (www.additool.eu).
