AFM PARTICIPATED IN GLOBAL TECH KOREA 2022 EVENT WITH CDTI

In conjunction with the Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI), AFM organised a technical mission to South Korea on 25, 26, 27 and 28 October. A number of relevant companies and technological centres from the cluster’s ecosystem took part. Within the framework of the mission, AFM participated on 25 and 26 October in the Global Tech Korea 2022 event, which was held in Seoul (South Korea).

As part of the event, a “Meet Spain” session was held, where the Spanish delegation presented the scientific, technological and industrial skills of the companies and technological centres to the Korean science and innovation ecosystem. These companies and institutions are: CORREA, DANOBATGROUP, FAGOR AUTOMATION, FYLA, GESTAMP, IBARMIA, MANU-KET, SMART, TECNALIA and VICOMTECH. In addition, B2B meetings were held to identify potential collaboration opportunities between entities from both countries.

The event also included a session dedicated to the EUREKA clusters. During this session, Patricia Tamés, Director of the EUREKA SMART Cluster, presented the 6th call for projects, which is currently open. The MANU-KET technological platform, the technical secretariat of which is held by INVEMA and the Mondragón Corporation, also took part in the event.

The Ambassador of Spain in Korea, Guillermo Kirkpatrick de la Vega, was in attendance, as well as the Director General of the CDTI, Javier Ponce.

Subsequently, visits were made to benchmark companies in South Korea, renowned for their innovation capacity and technological leadership. On the 27th, visits were made to companies Hwacheon and SEOAM Machinery in the city of Gwangju. On the 28th, the participants visited Justek, located in the city of Gyeonggi.

The mission has given the attendees a first-hand look at the advancements and latest trends in a country that is at the forefront of innovation like South Korea, and has served to generate collaboration opportunities with entities located there.
