WITH THE PURCHASE OF THE CATALONIAN E2M COMPANY, COUTH CAN NOW COUNT ON ARTIFICIAL VISION TO ENTER NEW MARKETS

The COUTH industrial group, a leader in industrial marking and traceability and located in Hernani, has just closed the purchase of the Catalonian E2M company, which specialises in the design and manufacture of industrial process inspection systems using artificial vision.

In the words of José Antonio Erdozia, CEO of COUTH, this steps confirms that: “We are still immersed in our strategic expansion plan, started in 2016, to create an industrial group in areas with high-added value and future possibilities. The incorporation of E2M allows us to enter the market for the development of solutions and intelligent systems that improve the efficiency of production processes.

“This strategic plan - highlights José Antonio Erdozia -, is based on strengthening the importance of COUTH and its position on the world stage in the field of industrial traceability using percussion and laser technologies, as well as the implementation of our own subsidiaries in countries like Germany, Mexico and China”.

This operation allows COUTH to progress in its plan to expand in areas with high-added value and unexplored possibilities. It has increased its workforce from 61 employees to one hundred and expects a turnover of 20 million euros in 2022.

E2M was established in Barcelona in 1993 and specialises in the design, manufacture and maintenance of artificial vision equipment and systems for 100% quality control of production in serial manufacturing lines. It is a leading company in artificial vision systems for the beverage, food and pharmaceutical industries, currently exports 60% of its production and is present in over 40 countries.

The absorption of E2M by COUTH strengthens the group’s range of high-added value solutions dedicated to improving the efficiency of production processes. Thus, they can combine state-of-the-art systems used for industrial traceability by artificial vision inspection and the development of artificial intelligence systems using data analytics and deep learning.

The operation gives the Guipuzcoan industrial group the opportunity to expand and diversify their activities and offer comprehensive solutions in industries such as food, beverage and pharmaceuticals, in addition to those where it is already present, such as the automotive, aeronautic, railway and oil & gas industries, among others.
