Smart Cooling Systems, SCS, by Daunert, is a brand specialized in the development of high pressure refrigeration systems (70-135 bar) for machining, with a compact design, advanced technology and attachable to any machine tool. It is an intelligent, modular and mobile system, prepared to supply high pressure and variable flow rates for process improvement in machine tools. Its principle of operation is based on the injection of refrigerant (oil or coolant) at high pressure filtered and cooled through tubes and nozzles provided to withstand such pressures directed to the cutting edge of the tool.
Visitors can learn more about these solutions at the EMO fair, as they will present all the SCS news in Hall 6 stand K61.
One of the great novelties presented will be the new steel articulated system, with 4 different measurement programs to supply low, medium and high pressure refrigerant. Ideal for CNC lathes with both fixed heads and moving heads, vertical and horizontal machining centers, grinding machines and transfer machines. The new system also resists vibration and coolant pressure without losing its position and can be oriented and fixed without the need for mounting keys. The nozzles resist over time and there is no danger of accidental movement of the articulated steel tubes when changing a tool. In addition, the nozzles are available in a wide variety of designs to better direct the refrigerant according to each application.
It is also ideal for working with powered tools or coolant outlets on the turret disk. Often, the problem with motorized tool holders is that the ball nozzle does not direct the coolant properly or, if copper pipes are used, it is strangled or too short and therefore inefficient to effectively direct the coolant to the point of heat generation.
One of the great benefits of the SCS articulated system is that it is a totally environmentally friendly product, without plastic waste and an expectation of durability equal to that of the machine tool itself.
