The city of Hannover will host the largest global fair dedicated to advanced manufacturing technologies from the 16th to the 21st of September. Focused mainly on machine tools for cutting and forming of metals and production systems, precision tools, automation and, of course, industrial digitalization, EMO Hannover is the benchmark event in the sector.
Under the motto "Intelligent technologies that drive the production of the future", the main world fair for the metallurgical industry will exhibit the full spectrum of manufacturing technologies, key to industrial competitiveness.
In 2017, the EMO Hannover fair attracted almost 2,230 exhibitors from 44 different countries, and about 130,000 professional visitors from 160 countries and from several major industry sectors, such as machinery manufacturers, the automotive industry and its component suppliers, the aerospace sector, precision mechanics and optics, shipbuilding, medical technology, tool and die manufacturing, steel and light construction.
In this edition, 69 Spanish manufacturers will present their newest manufacturing systems at the German fair and will take up about 7,000 m2 of exhibition space. The outstanding strength in the Basque companies sector is reflected by the 5,240 m2 that the 45 exhibiting companies in Euskadi have hired.
The Minister of Economic Development and Infrastructures of the Basque Government, Arantza Tapia, the Deputy Minister of Industry, Javier Zarraonandia, the director of SPRI, Alex Arriola, the Deputy General of Gipuzkoa, Markel Olano, the Deputy of Economic Promotion, Imanol Lasa, the CEO of Icex, María Peña Mateos, as well as a delegation of the Commission for Economic Development and Infrastructure of the Basque Parliament, among others, will get to know firsthand the spectacular technological deployment of Spanish manufacturers.
The fair will be the stage chosen to present the data of the advanced manufacturing and machine tool sector and the BIEMH 2020 fair (Bilbao, 25th-29th of May), with a tour through three stands of leading manufacturers who are exhibitors at both fairs: Ona Electroerosión, Ibarmia and Soraluce. The attendees to the presentations will include Arantza Tapia, Minister of Economic Development and Infrastructure of the Basque Government and President of BEC, Xabier Basañez, General Director of BEC, Xabier Ortueta, General Director of AFM CLUSTER and the managers of the visited companies.
