The EMO MILANO 2021 fair opens its doors today until October 9 after the forced stop due to the pandemic with good business expectations, derived from the excellent performance of the Italian market (fourth largest producer and exporter in the world) and the good general outlook for the world economy. The event hosted the lectio magistralis of Professor Giorgio Metta, scientific director of IIT, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia di Genova which presentation has focused on issues related to automation, robotics and artificial intelligence and how they can affect the future of manufacturing as well as other areas of daily life.
The Vice Minister of Economic Development of the Italian Government, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, the President of the Lombardy region, Attilio Fontana, the President of the ICE agency, Carlos Ferro, the President of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, Barbara Colombo, the President of Feria Milano, Enrico Pazzali, the President of CECIMO, Hans-Martin Schneeberger and the General Commissioner of EMO MILANO 2021, Luigi Galdabini have inaugurated the fair this morning highlighting the strategic nature of the machine tool industry for industrial competitiveness and the ability of Milan to attract to the most qualified investors in technologies to produce.
The Spanish machine tool industry is the third most important in this edition of the EMO according to the number of exhibitors and the fifth, if we stick to the 3,000 m2 of occupied exhibition space, in which they will show their new developments in the field of milling and machining centers, turning, grinding, EDM, metrology, digitization, additive manufacturing, automation and control, components, cutting tools, and other technologies and services for advanced manufacturing.
The celebration of the EMO in Milan coincides with a moment of global economic reactivation, which is also taking place in our country. After the initial stoppage, the year 2020 ended with dynamism, thanks to the recovery of commercial activity in the last three months of the year. In 2021, the good rate of order acquisition has been maintained, even exceeding the 2019 figures, although it will take a little longer to reflect this reality in turnover.
In support of the efforts made by companies to show their progress and innovations at the EMO, Markel Olano, the Head of the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council, Javier Larrañaga, Deputy for Economic Promotion, Tourism and Rural Affairs, Arantxa Tapia, Basque Government Minister of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment of the Basque Government, Mikel Amundarain, Deputy Minister of Industry, Aitor Urzelai, General Director of SPRI (Economic Development Agency) and Rodrigo Tilve,
Director of Industrial Products of the ICEX together with a representation of the Economic Development Commission of the Basque Parliament will visit the fair.
Presentation of BIEMH 2022
During the EMO MILANO celebration, the 31st edition of BIEMH, which will be held at BEC (Bilbao Exhibition Center) from June 13 to 17, 2022 will be officially presented. The event will take place on October 7 at the stand of the SORALUCE company, belonging to the industrial group DANOBATGROUP, and will be chaired by Arantxa Tapia, Basque Government Minister of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment, who will be accompanied by the General Director of BEC, Xabier Basañez, the General Director of Danobatgroup, Pello Rodríguez and the Director General of AFM Cluster, Xabier Ortueta.
