Tungsten carbide, commonly known as Hard Metal, is a ceramic compound formed by wolfram and carbon in the form of carbide (WC) fused with cobalt (Co). Manufacturas HEPYC bits are manufactured in K20-K40 Hard Metal with a grain size of between 0.3-0.4 mm, 10% cobalt and, generally, coating with TiAlN.
The bits manufactured include reference 1184, an integrated hard metal bit with an internal cooling channel and TiAlN coating, tip at 140º and propeller at 30º, capable of perforating up to 12 times the diameter. The range offered by HEPYC goes from a diameter of 3.00 mm to 16.00 mm.
This bit, in addition to offering optimal self-centring, makes sure that the coolant reaches the cutting area between the bit and the material, which is the area subject to most stress. Moreover, since the coolant helps evacuate shreds, it can work at faster cutting speeds.
In short, HEPYC reference 1184 is ideal for working with steels of up to 55HRC at high cutting speeds in deep perforations.
Having dedicated more than 75 years to the manufacture of precision cutting tools, HEPYC offers the market the most innovative cutting solutions. The factory, located in the Basque Country, is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery for manufacturing machine tools, an R&D&i department and a quality control laboratory. With one of the most comprehensive catalogues in the sector, HEPYC tools are available in over 30 countries worldwide.
