HEXAGON AND SMARTPM ANNOUNCE SIGNING OF A COLLABORATION AGREEMENT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOLUTIONS FOR THE SMART FACTORY

Hexagon and SMARTPM announced last April 27th a strategic collaboration agreement signalling a very important, top-level commitment by the Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence division to the SMARTPM project, with the aim of bringing an offering of automated, flexible, smart and autonomous value-added manufacturing solutions to the industrial market.

The agreement has been signed by the chairman of SMARTPM and the Egile Group, Mr. Alfonso Urzainki, the deputy executive chairmen of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, Mr. Hendrik Schafstall (Smart Factory) and Mr. Steffen Dilger (Industrial Software), and also by Mr. Jordi Edo, General Manager of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence in Spain.

This agreement has been forged from a consolidated partnership between Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence and the Egile Group (of which SMARTPM forms part) always within a framework of mutual trust that has fostered several successful collaborations and co-developments. Both organisations have a shared vision of the future of the industry and advanced manufacturing and are equally eager to address the challenges of Industry 4.0 and Digitalisation pragmatically and seeking high added value for their clients, using SMARTPM as a driver to accelerate these advancements.

Thus, the accreditation of SMARTPM as an EMEA Gold Partner of Hexagon means that the multinational will promote SMARTPM’s MIC industrial automation platform (Manufacturing Intelligence Core) when proposing solutions to its clients.

This agreement brings together the major synergies existing between the Egile Group’s expert knowledge of high complexity and precision machining processes and the new strategy of Hexagon MI with world-renowned technological solutions widely accepted in the field of Metrology and high-precision 3D Digitalisation, their integration in highly automated industrial settings, CAD, CAM, CAE (SIMUFACT, FTI) solutions, and their Q-DAS, eMMA and more recent SFx data analysis and management platforms.

In short, this is an ambitious, internationally relevant commitment aimed at working together to facilitate a pragmatic evolution towards more intelligent, flexible and autonomous manufacturing, clearly geared towards results and transforming the industry of the future.
