This morning, Teresa Laespada, Minister for Employment, Social Inclusion and Equality of the Regional Council of Vizcaya has presided over the inauguration ceremony of WORKinn, the first industrial training and employment forum of the state.
During this first WORKinn more than 6,000 young technical students will meet with industrial companies offering employment, which seek to cover positions that require specific technical qualifications, and with good prospects for the future. More than 100 job offers and an extensive programme of talks on new skills, dual training, entrepreneurship, experience abroad or digital tool, among other hot topics.
The WORKin fair is held in parallel to the Machine Tool Biennial from the 31st May to 3rd June. The BIEMH is considered as the most important industrial fair held in Spain and the third most important in Europe, and it gathers together 1533 exhibiting firms from 27 countries in Bilbao.
The advanced manufacturing technologies sector requires highly prepared people, as people are its main asset, in order to offer products and services that add to the specific needs of the most advanced industry. A strategic, internationalised, technologically ground-breaking and innovative sector, with high labour stability. That is why it is very important to show young people the advantages that the industrial sector can offer them for their professional future, and why AFM, together with BEC, organises the WORKinn fair as a key tool to close the gap between companies and young people.
The AFM association has incorporated into its management, ADDIMAT, created in 2014 and whose aim is to group together and provide a service for additive manufacturing companies, and more recently ESKUIN, the hardware and industrial supply cluster, and AFMEC, the Mechanical Engineering Association of Spain.
