20 July, 2022The Industry 4.0 business unit of Schaeffler is now to be called Schaeffler Lifetime Solutions: the change of name stems from a shift in the product and service portfolio, which has been broadening in recent years, going from individual product solutions to integrated services. The new “Lifetime Solutions” title and the tag line “Keep your machines rolling” addresses the intention to cater for the needs and wants of maintenance managers and plants throughout the entire life cycle of the machine.
“As challenges and opportunities increase, greater productivity and sustainability needs to be achieved more efficiently”, according to Dr. Stefan Spindler, Industrial CEO of Schaeffler. “To achieve this, we need integrated concepts, which are precisely what the aim of Schaeffler Lifetime Solutions is. Our clients are our main focus and we will help them every step of the way. The goal is clear: our products and services need to ensure that their work flows can be planned out in the best way possible, so they can be certain that their machines will run reliably and without unexpected faults.”
“The new name clearly shows the path we have taken”, added Rauli Hantikainen, head of Schaeffler Lifetime Solutions. “It’s a value proposition: less unscheduled stoppages, longer life cycles for bearings and machines, greater sustainability, more reliability during operations and, therefore, a less stressful and easier-to-plan working day for plant staff. Schaeffler Lifetime Solutions combines component expertise and digital solutionsThe product and services program focuses on predictive and preventive maintenance. It is based on many years of experience in the design of bearings, as well as in bearing lubrication, monitoring and assembly.
The key word “sustainability” is increasingly important in production and is therefore one of the cornerstones for developing and expanding Schaeffler Lifetime Solutions. The focus is on preventive and efficient maintenance, which makes significant contributions to the better use of resources, since it can prevent unscheduled stoppages in plants and help reduce CO2 emissions.
