The cutting tool manufacturer IZAR actively collaborates with the “Industria Erronka” scheme, organised by FVEM (the Bizkaia Federation of Metal Businesses) and aimed at bringing the industrial sector to the young people of Bizkaia and sparking their interest in vocations relating to science and technology.
This aims to capture young talent for the industrial sector and also reinforce the incorporation of women in these fields, in response to some of the sector’s key concerns.
In this context, IZAR has become an active collaborator in this programme which plans visits to industrial companies throughout the 2021-22 academic year, attended by students aged between 15 and 18 from 30 schools in the region. These are specifically students from 4th year of the secondary school technology strand and vocational training students, who will have the opportunity to get to know tool manufacturing processes up close with the leading cutting machine manufacturer.
In total, IZAR expects to receive at least half a dozen visits from vocational training centres, however, as part of its transparency and social collaboration policy, it has offered to increase this number over the coming months.
A good example of this vocation is the work being carried out in the company by eight students from the so-called Dual vocational education area, which combines training in schools with practical work experience at member businesses, such as IZAR.
