Izar culminated on June 28th, the 50th anniversary celebrations of the beginning of its internationalization, which began with the visit to its facilities, in 1969, of its first international client, Beltracy, still active today, and that has led them to be present in 90 markets around the world in 2019.
IZAR’s facilities in Amorebieta received a broad representation of more than a hundred clients from five continents; from places like Argentina, China, Egypt, Colombia, India, Japan, South Africa, Russia, New Zealand, etc., in addition to a good number of European customers.
Apart from their global clientele, different authorities attended the institutional act, both at a local level, and on behalf of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the Basque Government, showing the roots and commitment of the company with its environment.
The event was used to honor the two protagonists who started this company in 1969. On the one hand, José María González, responsible of exports at Izar at that time and, on the other hand, Hervé Gendebien, director of Beltracy and grandson of the first international visitor who, still today, continues to represent the firm in Belgium.
Representatives of the company presented the export trajectory of IZAR during this half century and its rightful place in the world today and also, the key products and services that have enabled this development, in a market as complex as that of the cutting tool.
The presentations had audiovisual support prepared to highlight the idea of globalization, understood as a long value chain, in which the work of many people around the world is necessary to achieve a competitive and quality product that brings value to the end user.
