A ballscrew is a precision mechanical linear drive which turns the rotatory motion in a linear motion with a few friction loss. These components are applied in sectors such as machine-tool, energy, medicine or transport. They are also used in the aeronautical industry as a component of the plane actuators. These parts are replacing the hydraulic systems because they are much lighter and therefore, much more efficient.
Since its setting up, more than five decades ago, Korta has designed, manufactured and commercialized high precision ballscrews (which is the core business of the company), rolled ballscrews, roller screws, ground trapezoidal screws and other products, supplying the main machine-tool manufacturers worldwide.
With the aim of provide new values to its products, Korta has developed the project Korta+S, real-time monitorization of ball screws using embedded wireless systems. The result has been the new Korta+S range, smart and sensorised ballscrews that monitorize directly the temperature and the preload force. It is a real, reliable and tested solution that allows access to the critical information in real time and from any place or device. The technology has been developed in collaboration with Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa, BC Materials, Ulma Embedded Solutions and the ETIC Innovation Center and with the support of the provincial council, SPRI and CDTI.
The ballscrews Korta+S are connected to a fully configurable data capture and processing system by users. They can also be connected in a quick and easy way to the data saving equipment of the machines which have 4.0 data processing equipment.
