Lantek, the multinational pioneer in digital transformation for the sheet metal cutting and processing industry, held the 2022 edition of its annual “International Meeting” at the Europa Conference Centre in Vitoria-Gasteiz from 19 to 22 September, with the participation of mountaineer Araceli Segarra.
The 2022 edition brought together over 200 attendees including Lantek staff and distributors from all over the world to create a discussion forum conducive to team-building and advancing the organisation's business targets for the coming years, which aim to continue to consolidate the Lantek brand as a global benchmark in the metal sector and pioneer in digital transformation in the sheet metal industry.
Growth and opening up new markets
One of the key elements of this is the focus the company has been placing for several years on recruiting global talent onto its team, as set forth in its Strategic Plan. In this regard, the company has announced the recruitment of a significant number of new collaborators, bringing the global headcount past the 300 mark.
This marks the completion of the first phase of business growth intensification, which doubled in pace, and in which the increase in structure comprising highly technological profiles responds to the strategic commitment to the digitalisation of the industrial metal sector.
This is an opportunity to attract and encourage talent at national and international level, particularly in the Basque Country, where the company's technological development centres are concentrated, in the Miñano Technology Park and Bilbao's Iberdrola Tower.
This growth is coupled with an increase in the sales volume at international level and a push in the expansion plan, opening up into new markets, including Australia, where Lantek has recently landed.
According to Alberto López de Biñaspre, CEO of Lantek, “At Lantek, we are in the midst of an ambitious expansion plan and are making a clear commitment to talent as the fundamental mainstay of our business. It is one of the keys of our business and we dedicate significant resources to this. All of this projects the commitment of the Basque Country and its business fabric to economic development and innovation in industry. Having brought our total workforce past the 300 mark globally and strengthening our presence in new markets like Australia, Canada or Thailand demonstrates that we are going in the right direction and that we are capable of becoming technological leaders in our sector.”
