LANTEK APPOINTS ANUPAM CHAKRABORTY AS DIRECTOR OF SALES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT IN THE UNITED STATES

Lantek USA, the North American subsidiary of Lantek Sheet Metal Solutions S.L., has selected Anupam Chakraborty as its new director of sales and business development for North America. Chakraborty brings his extensive experience in corporate leadership to his new role in Lantek.

Before joining Lantek, Anupam Chakraborty was vice-president at Metamation, largely focusing on the areas of sales and product management. He has collaborated widely with manufacturers of original equipment, such as Trumpf, Mitsubishi or Cincinnati Inc., among others, and has contributed to exponential business growth at Metamation. Prior to Metamation, he was senior manager over Strategy at Carborundum Universal Ltd. In his early career, he also held a design and engineering position at Thyssen Krupp.

Chakraborty holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from T A Pai Management Institute (Manipal, India) and a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the National Institute of Technology of Durgapur (India).

This appointment is of great significance for Lantek, after its recent strategic partnership with TRUMPF and the goal of both businesses to offer open-source solutions for digitalisation and smart factories to manufacturers in the sheet metal sector. Chakraborty’s experience at Metamation and TRUMPF will bring his broad knowledge of software and machine tools for sheet metal to Lantek USA.

Lantek is recognised as a leader in the sheet metal software and digital transformation sector. Its open-source software is compatible with hundreds of different brands and cutting and drilling machines. Engaged in OEM collaborations with over 120 machine tool suppliers worldwide, Chakraborty is determined to broaden alliances with OEM and US distributors in order to help businesses attain smart factories no matter what the brand and model of their machines or their digitalisation status.
