NEREA ARANGUREN, RECOGNISED AS THE BEST MANAGER IN GIPUZKOA AT THE ASPEGI 2024 AWARDS

The Association of Professionals and Businesswomen of Gipuzkoa (ASPEGI) has announced the winners of the ASPEGI 2024 awards, which recognize the outstanding professional career and contribution to the economy of the territory by women. Nerea Aranguren, innovation director of DANOBATGROUP, has been awarded in the category of Directive/Professional, while Pilar Mitxelena Escudero, partner at Iñaki Bereziartua, has been distinguished in the category of Entrepreneur.

The ASPEGI awards seek to make visible the labor reality of women in Gipuzkoa, promoting gender equality in the business and professional environment. Therefore, Aranguren's competent and innovative work is praised, highlighting her proactivity and crucial role for women in the industry. ASPEGI wanted to highlight her exemplary leadership, her contribution to the visibility of the female role and her constant encouragement of the Center's research staff and professionals.

Aranguren has had a very close trajectory to AFM Cluster, as a member of INVEMA's board of trustees. In addition, she is currently president of UPTEK, the Spanish association of technology-based companies and startups for advanced and digital manufacturing within AFM Cluster, since its foundation in 2019. UPTEK brings together companies from 3 different groups; on the one hand, more than 100 startups with product and service orientation for advanced and digital manufacturing, on the other hand, industrial companies belonging to the associations of AFM Cluster and the world of Advanced Manufacturing, and finally, entities, institutions and collaborating companies with special links to the group of technology-based companies and startups. In this way, today UPTEK has a total of 150 associated companies.

Nerea Aranguren is grateful for the award as a collective recognition to the entire DANOBATGROUP team and stresses the importance of valuing the integral contribution of women in business. She considers the award as an impulse to continue advancing towards equality.

The ASPEGI 2024 awards ceremony will take place on February 22 at the Aquarium in Donostia-San Sebastian.
