PEUGEOT APPROVES LAZPIUR AS HIGH PRECISION TOOLING MANUFACTURER

The highly complex tooling manufactured by the Guipuzcoa company requires considerable technical preparation both of its machinery and of its operators.

The French multinational now forms part of the extensive list of Lazpiur automotive manufacturer-customers, such as Volkswagen, Daimler or Ford.

Lazpiur has achieved the approval to become a highly complex tooling manufacturer for Peugeot. The French multinational has examined the material produced by the Guipuzcoa company and has reached the conclusion that it meets all the requirements to become a supplier from now on.

The ironwork tooling manufactured by Lazpiur requires considerable technical preparation both of its machinery and of its operators. The company has extensive experience accumulated over the last few years. It has also made new investments linked to Industry 4.0. This has enabled the Bergara company to specialise in the manufacture of high precision tooling, that requires some very special characteristics in terms of finish and tolerances.

The parts manufactured by Lazpiur and whose destination may be the Peugeot factories after the approval, are used in different parts of the vehicle: from steering to brakes or clutch, etc.

With this new incorporation, Peugeot now forms part of the extensive list of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) customers of Lazpiur, with vehicle manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Daimler or Ford.

Regarding high precision tooling, Lazpiur has an extensive range in its portfolio: Both wear tools (punches, dies, expellers, swages, cutting blades,…), and larger sized standard tools, such as wedges, blocks, frames or plates.

Lazpiur, apart from being specialised in highly complex tooling, also manufactures machinery with a high innovation component, and is present in 25 countries on four continents. Apart from vehicle manufacturers, it also has customers such as Tier-1 multinationals such as GKN, Hirschvogel, FAG and HAY Group.
