26 November, 2024Schaeffler, a renowned motion technology company, took part in Advanced Manufacturing 2024, the leading event for the manufacturing sector, which was held from 20 to 21 November at IFEMA in Madrid. In Hall 9, stand D21, the company showcased a range of innovative solutions designed to optimise operational efficiency and promote sustainability in industrial plants.
In a 60 m² space, Schaeffler highlighted technologies aimed at improving the performance of industrial equipment, reducing energy consumption and extending the service life of assets. Among the innovations was the OPTIME Ecosystem, a system that was the focus of the talk ‘How to increase your OEE efficiently and sustainably in the long term’, presented by Juan González Yepes, maintenance solutions expert at Schaeffler Iberia.
Innovation in predictive maintenanceDigitalisation and predictive maintenance are key areas in Schaeffler's strategy to address current industry challenges, such as cost reduction and carbon footprint. At the show, the company presented its Lifetime Solutions range, which includes advanced tools such as OPTIME Condition Monitoring, based on vibration and temperature analysis, and the new PredictAdapt, which uses electrical signals to predict component failures.
Newly, the ECO-Adapt range has enabled users to monitor electric drives and their energy consumption, while also adding fluid, gas and temperature analysis capabilities through the Power-Adapt system. These tools have provided a comprehensive view of system performance, helping to prevent failures and better plan maintenance tasks, allowing staff to focus on strategic activities.
Automation and efficient linear actuatorsSchaeffler has also focused on automation solutions, such as the CASM Ewellix high-performance electromechanical actuators, which are capable of operating with loads of up to 15 tonnes and with maximum precision. These units have been highlighted for their high energy efficiency, converting up to 80% of input energy into useful work, as well as offering advanced control options.
Other innovations on show included Ewellix's Slidekits and Liftkits, designed to extend the reach of industrial robots and cobots, and floor-locking actuators, ideal for stabilising dollies and other equipment in industrial applications.
Commitment to sustainabilitySchaeffler has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability by investing in technologies that reduce the environmental impact of industrial processes. The recent integration of Ewellix products has reinforced its ability to offer more energy-efficient solutions, aligning with the demands of a changing industry.
By participating in Advanced Manufacturing Madrid 2024, Schaeffler has not only demonstrated its technological leadership, but also its commitment to creating a more efficient, sustainable and safer industrial future.
