The Basque machine tool company Soraluce invested 9 million Euros in the construction of a new production plant in Bergara. The installation is destined to the manufacture of a new range of machines of large dimensions and high powers for the machining of large pieces.
The plant, called Portal Factory, has a useful surface area of 4,900 m2, a height of 17 meters and a crane capacity of up to 80 tons, dimensions that allow the company to manufacture large machines.
"Portal Factory is our most complete and advanced manufacturing center. This investment shows a big step for the development of the new range of gantry machines with the objective of giving a technologically advanced response to the growing demand for machining of large pieces in the industrial sector", says the CEO of Soraluce, Rafael Idigoras.
The opening of this new plant, which is already in operation, is part of the commitment of Danobatgroup to the promotion of innovation and sustained investment in production facilities that allow new technologies to be developed.
Three days to get to know the technological dimension of Soraluce
To showcase its new facilities and its commitment to R&D, the company organized the Soraluce Summit 2019 in Portal Factory with the aim of becoming the center of the exchange of knowledge between professionals and companies in the sector.
The summit enabled attendees to check the technological advances of the Basque manufacturer's gantry machines under real machining conditions, through practical demonstrations led by the firm's experts in milling, grinding and vertical turning processes.
