AFM-Advanced Manufacturing Technologies and Bilbao Exhibition Centre will organise WORKinn the coming month of May. This will be a forum of employment and training, aimed at young people, and whose objective is to provide students, future employees of the companies, with a more in-depth knowledge of the market and job offers of the machine-tool and advanced manufacturing technologies sector. The show, which will take place in parallel with BIEMH, will be the first industrial employment fair held to date in Spain.
Universities, vocational training centres, ETTs (temporary employment agencies), development and employment agencies, and manufacturers and users of the industrial sector will participate in WORKinn to show the training offer that exists today, to counsel students and professionals, to identify talent and promote employment of the most qualified profiles. The event will combine different spaces, dedicated to presentations, exhibition and workshops, with private rooms for interviews and meetings from 31 May to 3 June.
BIEMH has historically been visited by numerous vocational training schools and universities, so it is the most ideal platform to carry out this initiative. Whilst in 2012, 5000 students from 101 centres participated in the different presentations and organised visits, in 2014 the figure increased slightly, with the addition of French participants to the list of geographical origins such as the Basque country, Guipuzcoa, Navarre, Zaragoza, Asturias, Cantabria, Burgos, Araba, La Rioja, Galicia, Valladolid, Leon or Madrid. In addition, the Award to the Best Final Degree Project related to the sector was presented, which was granted by AFM with the collaboration of the Manufacturing Engineering Society (MES).
Furthermore, BIEMH is the main industrial fair in Spain, and one of the five most important meetings of its speciality in Europe, as shown by its participation volume and international nature: 1314 exhibiting firms and more than 35,500 professional visitors from 57 countries were the figures for 2014. This year, and three months before it is to be held, BIEMH has already surpassed the final occupation figure obtained the previous year, and it is expected to be the best fair since 2008, with significant growth percentages in all its parameters.
