30 April, 2024TDG Clamping Solutions, founded in 1916 as Guernica Workshops and renamed in 2018, commemorates its 108th anniversary as a leading designer and manufacturer of clamping solutions for industry. With a history rich in diversification and adaptation, the company has evolved from the production of meat grinders and military howitzers to a global benchmark in the manufacture of lathe chucks and oversized clamping solutions.
Located in its historic headquarters in Gernika, a building that has been declared a Basque industrial heritage site, TDG has maintained a constant trajectory of innovation and international expansion. The company was one of the national pioneers in exports, extending its initial markets to France, South America and North Africa, and has continued its global expansion to the present day.
In the 1980s, TDG introduced oil country chucks for the American market, followed by the development of automatic chucks in the early 2000s. This adaptability was further highlighted in the early 2000s when the company decided to specialise in large chucks, a decision that doubled its turnover in the last decade.
Today, with a staff of 46 employees, TDG focuses entirely on customised solutions for demanding sectors such as wind, rail, oil & gas, aeronautics and nuclear. Recent investments in technology and continuous improvement processes have optimised its production capacity, allowing TDG to offer tailor-made turntables at the same lead times and prices as standard, a unique service in the market.
TDG has been part of several Hazitek programmes in collaboration with technology centres in the Basque Country such as Tekniker and Tecnalia, developing sensorised clamping solutions that allow lathes to measure in real time clamping force and other crucial data for Industry 4.0. These innovations reflect not only TDG's commitment to quality and safety, but also its ability to adapt to the changing needs of the industry.
Celebrating more than a century of success, TDG Clamping Solutions continues to be a model of innovation and excellence in the manufacturing industry. With hundreds of success stories and a strong presence in more than 60 countries, TDG demonstrates that more than a century of experience can go hand-in-hand with a vision for the future in the advanced manufacturing industry.
As part of its ongoing commitment to innovation and knowledge sharing in the sector, TDG will once again be present at the BIEMH, in Hall 1 Stand C21, where they will be demonstrating their latest solutions and products.
