Coinciding with the celebration of its 107th anniversary, TDG Clamping Solutions inaugurated the new Mazak Vortex I-630V/6 machine with Palletech at an event held at the TDG premises on Friday, 12 May last.
Despite being one of the most long-standing businesses in the Basque industrial fabric, TDG remains in top form and continues to grow and improve, even renewing itself after the change of brand from Talleres de Guernica to TDG Clamping Solutions. This change of brand was coupled with a boost in the company's international vocation, currently exporting over 60% of its production to more than 50 countries on the 5 continents, not to mention the continuous improvement of its production process, with continuous advances in organisation and process management and now also in the actual production resources.
As a result of this improvement, in late 2022 TDG was awarded the title of best transformation SME by the prestigious company Sisteplant.
The Mazak Vortex I-630 is a state-of-the-art 5-axis machining centre with 12 waiting stations, which means that the machine can operate unmanned during night shifts and weekends. An extra production capacity that, according to the company’s CEO, Enrique Guzmán, reinforces the great work done by all employees in recent years, strengthening the idea of teamwork that is infused in every one of TDG's success stories.
The mayor of Gernika, Jose Mari Gorroño, also highlighted the incredible strides made by TDG, recalling his visit to the plan during its centenary celebrations, which he described as a huge 7-year job to become a benchmark not only in the region, but worldwide.
The event was attended by over 100 people between the main shareholders, the closest collaborating businesses in TDG's day to day, suppliers, subcontractors, clients and banks and, of course, former staff, who attended to eagerly witness the commissioning of the new machine and enjoy a delightful cocktail reception among friends.
