12 November, 2024TECNALIA and ZAYER have strengthened their collaboration relationship, which now spans more than fifteen years, with the recent acquisition by TECNALIA of a Kronos 3000 milling machine. The machine, installed at TECNALIA's headquarters in the Gipuzkoa Science and Technology Park, will be key to making progress in applied research in the field of machine tools and machining solutions.
This step is part of TECNALIA's efforts to speed up industrial innovation processes by reducing the time between the development of a new technology and its availability on the market. With the incorporation of this machine, the technology centre will be able to prototype and optimise machines and processes more quickly, offering industry advanced and efficient machining solutions.
Kronos 3000: Precision and Power for the Machining of Large PartsThe Kronos 3000 is a mobile column milling machine designed specifically for machining large workpieces, a key capability for industries working with highly demanding materials. This machine stands out for its power of up to 60 kW and a spindle speed of up to 6,000 rpm, features that give it remarkable versatility and precision. In addition, the machine offers wide travels in all three axes, which significantly expands its applications.
Another outstanding advantage of the Kronos 3000 is its ergonomic design and watertight enclosure, both of which ensure a safe working environment and optimise operational efficiency. The machine ensures a positioning accuracy of 0.008 millimetres, which is an important attribute for projects that require high precision in every machining process.
Boosting Industrial InnovationThe new acquisition will allow TECNALIA not only to advance its research and development projects, but also to support the growth of industry through advanced solutions that facilitate the implementation of new technologies in industrial environments. However, this machine will only be used for internal TECNALIA projects and developments in collaboration with other companies, so it will not be available for direct use by third parties.
Long-term collaborationThe alliance between TECNALIA and ZAYER underlines the commitment of both organisations to promote innovation in the machine tool sector. This collaboration, which has generated multiple benefits over the years, continues to consolidate with investments that add value both to the field of research and to the industrial sector in general. With this incorporation, TECNALIA and ZAYER reaffirm their leadership in the development of high quality technological solutions, contributing to the advancement of the manufacturing sector in Spain and Europe.
