The IMH – Machine Tool Institute – Dual Engineering School of Elgoibar has presented its new “Digital Manufacturing” university master’s, attached to the UPV/EHU*, which will start in September this year.
The IMH is a reference demonstration and vacational training in the field of advanced manufacturing and Industry 4.0. It helps to speed up the learning curve of technical skills for the production industry. This new university master’s completes the university higher education cycle, which began 20 years ago with its Dual Engineering degree in Process and Product Innovation.
The IMH University Master’s in DIGITAL MANUFACTURING, the same as the degree, is 100% taught in DUAL mode with the advantage that in this model the student, enterprise and university work together and share the common goal of person development from the start. Together with the university, the enterprise is a learning and skill development environment, that is integrated into the process in an active, coordinated and planned manner. Furthermore, the education programme includes subjects that are taught via the project-based learning methodology.
The Digital Manufacturing Master’s programme offers multi-disciplinary training, advanced manufacturing engineering technical skills (automatic, mechanical, electronic, etc.), the bases of industrial organisation and the new industrial digitalisation needs for the smart and connected factory.
The master comprises 90 credits, and it is aimed at both recent graduates and active workers whose professional goals include developing Industry 4.0 projects in their enterprises.
The training is carried out by alternating work and face-to-face training at different teaching centres of acknowledged industrial prestige such as IMH in Elgoibar, Tecnalia headquarters in Donostia, the IK4 – Ideko technology centre in Elgoibar, and the Advanced Aeronautics Manufacturing Centre (CFAA) in Zamudio, throughout the two years that the master’s lasts for.
Cutting-edge enterprises from the area closely collaborate in the design of the programme, participating both in defining contents and teaching them, with prestigious professors and professionals from different entities, all of whom are references in their fields of knowledge.
Students will have the advantage of signing a work contract for 50% (minimum) of the working day so they can do the master’s in the enterprise and carry out the real end of master’s project defined jointly between student, enterprise and university. This is a magnificent opportunity to acquire knowledge of the future, developing a project and applying the technologies related to Industry 4.0.
