The assessment offered this morning by the organizers of the 31st BIEMH has been unanimous; From all perspectives: occupation, visitors, commercial contacts and business opportunities, the largest industrial fair held in Spain, has been as anticipated in its presentation, one of the best in the already long history of the event. The 31 BIEMH has stood out for the excellent display of manufacturers of Advanced and Digital Manufacturing technologies throughout its six pavilions. Packed with novelties: with the latest domestic and foreign machine tools, 3D printing equipment, components of all kinds, the most advanced cutting tools, all kinds of elements and solutions to digitize, automate and robotize processes and services, the BEC corridors have been packed during the five days that the contest has lasted. To the spectacular display of manufacturers of machines, components and systems to produce has been added on this occasion a varied offer of conferences and talks.
During the Machine Tool Biennial, the National Awards for Innovation in Advanced and Digital Manufacturing, organized by AFM CLUSTER with the support of BEC and BEAZ (Bizkaia Innovation Agency), were awarded to ZAYER, CORREA, NAVANTIA, SMART PM and CITD.
The president of AFM CLUSTER, José Pérez Berdud, stated: “After 4 years, two of them very hard and immersed in a scenario of great uncertainty, we have shown that we are a powerful, modern, technological sector with a great present and future. BIEMH has been a true demonstration of strength and technological capacity.”
After the inauguration on Monday presided over by the Lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu, the fair was visited by Arantxa Tapia, Minister for Economic Development, Sustainability and the Environment, Idoia Mendia, the Second Vice-Lehendakari and Minister for Labor and Employment of the Basque Government, the General Deputies from Gipuzkoa and Bizkaia, Markel Olano and Unai Rementeria.
Also present were Galo Gutierrez, General Director of Industry and SMEs of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Teresa Laespada, Provincial Deputy for Employment, Social Inclusion and Equality of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, Jabier Larrañaga, Deputy for Economic Promotion, Tourism and Rural Affairs and Jokin Perona, Deputy for Treasury and Finance, both from the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council, the Director General of SPRI, Aitor Urzelai, the Director of Industrial Products of ICEX, Rodrigo Tilve, the Secretary General of PSE-EE, Eneko Andueza, the Spokesperson for Euskal Herria Bildu in the Basque Parliament, Maddalen Iriarte, Mayors of Bilbao, Barakaldo and Elgoibar, and representatives of the Basque Parliament, ADEGI, ELKARGI, CONFEBASK, Chambers of Commerce, ICEX, CDTI and Navantia.
